The Kings unveil their new-look jerseys today as training camp tipoff week begins with a "Meet the Kings" event at noon at Arden Fair.
Today's event, to take place in front of Nordstrom, also marks the first opportunity to purchase individual game tickets for the upcoming season. That includes exhibition and regular-season games, including the Nov. 5 home opener.
Fans may purchase Kings 2008-09 season tickets, game plans or opening night individual tickets at the event. Those buying at the event also will receive two complimentary tickets to the Kings Fandemonium event Oct. 5.
Hornets hire basketball assistant
Sacramento State women's basketball coach Dan Muscatell announced the hiring of Adam Zedonis as an assistant for the 2008-09 season.
Zedonis worked for the Kings and Golden State Warriors for the past six years. He served as the community service coordinator for Maloof Sports and Entertainment, the Kings' owners, since November 2004 after two years in a similar capacity for the Warriors.
Zedonis coordinated community outreach programs for the Monarchs and Kings, and handled the teams' charitable contributions.
Zedonis was the co-director of the Warriors' basketball camps in 2002 and 2003, serving as a public relations manager and camp coach.
Previously, Zedonis spent a season as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.
Sac State romps in soccer
Junior Kim Kemper had a first-half goal and second-half assist, leading the visiting Sac State women's soccer team (4-4-1) to a 4-0 victory over Cal State Bakersfield (4-6-1).
