Q: How did you get started blogging with nba.com?
A: They approached me. They said me, Chris Paul, Chris Kaman and Jerry Stackhouse were going to do it. At first I said no. I was like, "I don't have time for it." Then I was like, "What the hell?" and just started.
Q: How long ago was that?
A: The beginning of last year.
Q: Are you surprised at how popular it has become?
A: Yeah. I'm very surprised. I was just doing it for fun, just talking about the week, talking about the game, talking about the day. Everybody started picking up on it.
Q: What do you hear most from people about the blog?
A: Most people say I need to blog a lot more. I get a lot of comments like, "Can you blog this week because I'm having a bad week and I need something funny to tell at work or read at work." I'm like, "All right."
Q: Does it give you a platform you never imagined before?
A: Probably. Just to venture out in other fields of the game. I can have that on the résumé, like I can entertain thousands of people.
Q: Do you think about starting your own site?
A: I do have gilbertarenas.com coming up. I haven't really used it. Maybe if the NBA says, "We're going to cut it down."
Q: You're pretty outspoken in the blogs. Have you ever gotten in trouble? Has anybody ever said anything to you about something you've posted, either a league official or a team official?
A: No, because they filter. I did a steroids one, about, "How can you not think (Roger) Clemens is on steroids?" And, "He looks like an Escalade truck." They took that out. They took a Michael Vick thing out. But other than that, whatever goes on, they've already filtered through it.
Q: So you can't get in trouble?
A: No, I can't get in trouble.
