For just the second time, the Sacramento State football team will play 12 regular-season games in a year, it was announced Tuesday.
The Hornets will open the season by hosting Humboldt State on Aug. 30. On Sept. 6, they will face a Football Bowl Subdivision team for the seventh consecutive season, visiting Colorado State.
Sac State will hold homecoming on Sept. 27 against Portland State and will visit UC Davis in the Causeway Classic on Nov. 8.
Rikki Foster singled in the winning run in a three-run ninth as host UC Davis beat Sac State 8-7 to sweep the three-game season series. Ryan Scoma had three RBIs for the Aggies (24-11). David Flores homered twice and had four RBIs for the Hornets (15-18).
The fourth-ranked Stanford women won their sixth consecutive match, beating visiting UCD 7-0. The Cardinal is 18-4, and the Aggies are 11-10.
