Fire burns near Hood

Firefighters are battling a blaze that is burning grass and a haystack in the Delta town of Hood.
The fire began about 4:13 a.m. along Hood Franklin Road, just east of River Road, a fire dispatcher said.
The Courtland Fire Department and Cosumnes Community Services District Fire Department crews are on scene.
