A Shasta County man was arrested early this morning after allegedly firing a gun near his neighbor during an argument.
Shawn Bate, 30, was arrested on suspicion of discharging a firearm at an occupied vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon, Shasta County sheriff's Sgt. Jerry Bowles states in a news lease.
Bate and Craig Bateman, 63, both of Shingletown, were arguing at about midnight in front of their homes on Lillian Drive because Bate had used his tractor to place large rocks in Bateman's driveway, the release states.
The argument escalated, and Bate allegedly fired a weapon near his neighbor and his neighbor's vehicle.
Bate was booked into Shasta County Jail.
