Drunken driving is suspected as a possible cause for a motorcycle crash that killed a Rocklin man in Fair Oaks early this morning.
Robert Warn, 24, was riding a 1998 Suzuki GSX R600 motorcycle south on San Juan Avenue at about 1:45 a.m. when the crash occurred, California Highway Patrol Officer Lizz Dutton stated in a news release.
Warn was going about 80 mph, went through a red light at Madison Avenue and, as he passed through the intersection, hit the left rear of a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria that had a green light, she said.
The impact of the crash threw Warn, who was wearing a helmet, from the motorcycle. He landed on the roadway and died at the scene from blunt force trauma.
The car's driver, Alexander Vizitiu, 27, of Elverta, was not injured.
Warn is suspected of drunken driving, Dutton said.
The CHP is still investigating the crash.
