An 88-year-old passenger was killed Monday afternoon after the car in which she was riding turned left in front of a Dodge pickup, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP spokeswoman Officer Lizz Dutton said Lovenna Murray was in a 2008 Saturn driven by her husband, Conrad Murray, 89, of Sacramento. The Saturn was westbound on Marconi Avenue before turning left at Ione Street, into the path of the pickup truck.
After hitting the Saturn in the right side, the Dodge went out of control and rolled over two times, Dutton said in a news release.
The Dodge driver and her 4-year-old daughter, who was in a car seat, were taken to UC Davis Medical Center with minor injuries, according to the release.
Conrad Murray was taken to Mercy San Juan Medical Center with a fractured hip, dislocated shoulder and lacerations, the release said. His driver's license had been suspended due to a medical disability, Dutton said.
