Cement truck hits and kills woman in Oak Park

Published: Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008

A Sacramento woman was killed Thursday morning when she was hit by a cement truck while walking near Broadway and 35th Street in the Oak Park area, police said.

Sacramento County coroner's officials identified her as Juliana Carrillo, 31. The truck was westbound on Broadway about 8:50 a.m. when it turned north on 35th Street, striking Carrillo, according to Sgt. Matt Young.

It is unknown if Carrillo, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was in the crosswalk, Young said.

It does not appear that alcohol, drugs or excessive speed were factors in the collision, he said.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or has information is asked to contact the Major Collision Unit at (916) 808-6030.
