A Wheatland man died and two other people were badly injured Saturday in a collision between Highway 65 and Beale Air Force Base in Yuba County.

The car was speeding when it left the road, went into a slight ditch and overturned several times, ejecting two occupants, the report states. The car landed on its wheels in an open field.

The 51-year-old male driver and a 46-year-old Oregon man riding in the rear passenger seat suffered major injuries and were flown to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, the report states.

The front-seat passenger, John Adelsberger, 47, died at the scene.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, the report states.
