Published: Monday, Oct. 06, 2008

Sacramento mayoral candidates Heather Fargo and Kevin Johnson will face off tonight in their first televised debate of the runoff election.

Johnson and Mayor Fargo will debate from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the University Union ballroom at California State University, Sacramento.

The debate will be broadcast live on KCRA and Capitol Public Radio, FM 90.9.

The candidates will answer questions from audience members, the majority of whom will be students.

A university official said Monday that about 230 students are anticipated to attend the debate, and are excited about the event.

"We've had very good response," she said.
