Sacramento police arrested a 66-year-old man tonight on suspicion of 40 felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, according to booking records. Raymond Allen Herman was booked into the county jail about 7 p.m., those records show.
Herman's arrest came as the result of a lengthy investigation by the Sacramento Police Department's Sex Assault Unit, said spokesman Sgt. Matt Young. A warrant for Herman's arrest was issued Oct. 2, Young said.
Young said the 40 counts are in regard to one victim but would not specify Herman's relationship to the juvenile.
