Rocklin police ask citizens to rate service

Published: Wednesday, Oct. 08, 2008

Rocklin police department this week mailed a questionnaire to more than 5,000 city households asking them to rate its quality of service.

Since 2005, the department has used an annual survey to solicite input from the community, and this week 5,750 randomly selected households were sent the survey's questionnaire. The forms are due back within four weeks.

The survey also asks residents to rate the police on their effectiveness in dealing with neighborhood concerns and helping maintain a high quality of the life in the city.

Last year, 5,541 surveys were sent out, and 20 percent of them completed and returned.

According to the department, 83 percent of respondents were very satisfied and 13 percent were somewhat satisfied with the courtesy and professionalism of the department.

Residents last year said traffic was their greatest concern and that they would like to see more police patrols in their neighborhoods, the department said.
