SACRAMENTO -- A conference to encourage sixth- to eighth-grade girls to pursue education and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics is scheduled for October at California State University, Sacramento.
The conference, which will include hands-on workshops, discussions and interaction with school and industry leaders, is planned Oct. 6.
Special sessions for accompanying adults will provide information on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and career opportunities.
Cost is $15 and includes lunch, two workshops, a demonstration fair, keynote speakers and a T-shirt.
