RANCHO CORDOVA – Area residents may be eligible for free cataract surgeries provided by Kaiser Permanente physicians.

Screenings to determine financial and medical eligibility will be April 19 in Kaiser's Rancho Cordova Medical Offices, 10725 International Drive.

The free surgeries are part of Mission Cataract USA, a program that provides the procedure to hundreds who lack health insurance or the means to pay for the operation.

The surgeries will be done May 2.

To schedule a screening appointment, call (916) 973-7159.
