SACRAMENTO Police are searching for a bicycle-riding bandit who shot a Natomas resident during a robbery attempt.
Three similar robberies occurred last weekend in the North Natomas area, on Vosspark Way, Bridgecross Drive and Arnold Gamble Circle.
During one of them, the man shot an intended victim in the buttocks, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
"He is accosting people when they pull into the driveway and they are preoccupied with unloading things," said spokeswoman Officer Michelle Lazark, a police spokeswoman. "He approaches them, brandishes a weapon and says: 'Give me your money.'"
During one incident, the robber demanded money as the resident was getting out of his car with the garage door open. The victim was trying to get into the house when the robber shot him, Lazark said.
"He is getting increasingly more brazen," she said. "So if somebody approaches you like that, give them what you have. This guy is irrational. And he is sitting in wait for people to pull into their driveways. We are asking people to be hyper-vigilant."
