Delta breezes swept in slightly cooler temperatures Sunday, and the cooling is expected to continue into the week.
Today's high is expected to reach 94 degrees significantly cooler than Friday's high of 100 degrees and Saturday's record high of 102 degrees.
"We're going to get a little bit of cooling through the Delta breeze, and that feels pretty good," said Karl Swanberg, forecaster with the National Weather Service.
The weather service forecast the highs in Sacramento at 84 degrees Tuesday and 77 degrees Wednesday.
The nightly lows are expected to drop into the mid-50s all week.
Swanberg said he expects temperatures around Sacramento to be in the low 80s by the end of the week, more akin to average temperatures this time of year.
