Sacramento City College officials broke ground today for a new Educational Center in West Sacramento, a facility that will include a public library and a community center. The center's first phase of construction should be completed and the building ready for classes in 2010.
The center is located across from the West Sacramento City Hall/Civic Center on West Capitol Avenue. The facility is the second of five education centers the Los Rios Community College District is building across the Sacramento region. The first opened in Natomas in the fall of 2005; others are planned for Davis, Rancho Cordova and Elk Grove.
