Philip Coelho, former chief executive of Rancho Cordova-based ThermoGenesis Corp., resigned from the company's board of directors Monday, according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Coelho, 64, will continue to consult with the company on intellectual property issues, according to the filing.
In 1987, Coelho helped found ThermoGenesis, then known as InstaCool Inc. He was appointed chief executive three years later and held the position until last summer.
When William Osgood took over leadership of ThermoGenesis in July 2007, Coelho became chief technology architect. He left that job in May.
ThermoGenesis makes two lines of medical devices. The first is used to archive stem cells, the second to prepare surgical "glues" from a patient's own blood.
