Sacramento-area AT&T Inc. workers on Tuesday protested the telecommunications company's plan to close a local call center and move its 200 jobs to Southern California and Texas.
About 40 pickets representing Communications Workers of America Local 9421 marched midday outside two of AT&T's local offices.
AT&T in a press release last month said that it is closing the call center in response to declining demand for land-line service, but that all Sacramento employees can follow their jobs to other locations.
