Fox40 (KTXL) anchor Thomas Drayton, who currently co-anchors the 10 p.m. news with Donna Cordova, said Tuesday that he is leaving the station for an anchor post at a Top 5 market on the East Coast.
Drayton said he couldn't specify where he's going due to a confidentiality agreement. He will leave Sacramento in early September.
Finding a replacement for Drayton won't be easy, said Fox40 news director Brandon Mercer. "We need to find someone who knows news, someone who's able to ad-lib, someone who's authentic and someone who has a voice that (viewers) will respect. That will be tough," Mercer said.
