The job is, in a word, "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."
And it'll look pretty cool on a résumé: chief magic official.
In a job search for its first-ver CMO, Disney Parks has teamed up with CareerBuilder.com to hire what it calls an "ambassador of dreams."
Sorry, kids, you've got to be 21 or older to apply.
The job, part of Disney Parks' "The Year of a Million Dreams" promotion, involves appearing at theme park events in Anaheim and Orlando this year to help grant "dreams" to park guests.
The part-time gig, which starts May 1, requires some weekend and holiday work, as well as travel to California's Disneyland and Florida's Walt Disney World Resort.
According to the online job description from CareerBuilder (which is affiliated with The McClatchy Co., owner of The Bee), the ideal candidate must be: "happy, never grumpy; able to easily befriend dwarfs, dogs, monsters and mice; have good manners, but can pillage and plunder with pirates, when necessary. Also required are pockets full of pixie dust, an aversion to poisonous apples, an interest in oversized teacups and flying elephants, and - most importantly - a strong desire to create dreams."
If that sounds like you, entries must be received -online only - by Jan. 27 at www.dreamcmo.com. Applicants must submit a video résumé and complete an M.A.T. (magic aptitude test) that asks questions like "How do you bring magic to your workplace?"
The CMO will receive an "hourly rate of compensation" for park appearances, plus Disney will provide airfare, accommodations and a spending allowance.
Donning a giant mouse suit is not required. However, Disney's first-ever CMO will be required to wear some type of as-yet-unspecified costume during park appearances, said spokeswoman Joanna DiNizio.
"We've definitely had a lot of interest. We've seen tons of applications for a shot at CMO," DiNizio said.
Ten finalists will be selected. Their videos will be posted online at www.dreamcmo.com for a public vote.
And, according to Disney, one final necessary job skill: ability to spell "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."
