Governor Meets Republicans, Budget Talks Continue

With the budget 32 days late, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger met privately with Senate Republicans for about an hour Tuesday in his office.

Republicans immediately went into caucus. As he left the governor's office, Senate GOP leader Dick Ackerman said he planned to meet with Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata later in the day. He scheduled a press conference for 5 p.m.
