1. On television. The recently concluded writers strike left many a couch potato deprived of quality content. USA Network's "Psych" easily filled that void. A whodunit show that is more about the characters than the weekly mystery, "Psych" features an average, observant guy solving crimes while pretending to have psychic powers. You'll laugh as he manages to drive everyone around him crazy and yet save the day.
2. In music. What's better than a hit song? Perhaps two or three hit songs mixed into one. That's the concept behind mash-ups, in which songs from different artists are combined to (hopefully) make better creations. Google "party ben," "bootiesf" or "digitaleargasm" to get started.
3. On the World Wide Web. MentallyIncontinent.com is a collection of excellent real-life stories by a man named Joe Peacock. He's writing a book, but there's a catch. The chapters of this book are determined by reader votes on his Web site. Finally, a chance for you to live out your dream of being an editor at a media conglomerate!
4. In cinema. When a movie's opening features the line "I'm not a gangster, I'm a businessman whose commodity happens to be cocaine," one might guess it isn't typical cinematic fare. That assumption would be absolutely correct with "Layer Cake" (2004), in which Daniel Craig plays a retiring "businessman" tasked with two final jobs. Fantastic acting, a great soundtrack and a riveting plot combine with a tinge of English culture to form a very underrated movie.
