Last night's "Imagine" fashion show at the Crest Theatre was a sell-out and nothing short of a major success - not only for the International Academy of Design & Technology students who presented collections, but for Sacramento's always-evolving fashion community.
From the music and the guests, including host Naima Mora (Season 4 winner of "America's Next Top Model") and keynote speaker Jack Mackenroth (a contestant on this season's "Project Runway"), to the amazing fashion collections, the show lived up to its subtitle: "Where Fashion, Art & Music Unite."
There were plenty of proud parents and family members on hand to cheer the students and a huge audience of, well, fashion fans. They were treated to collections that ranged from evening wear to swimwear - and everything in between.
And certainly no local fashion show would be complete without the showcase work of some of Sacramento's biggest talents. Tomicko Abella, Dee Aguilar, Richard Hallmarq and Steven Willey wowed with four very unique collections that spotlighted their individual creativity.
Props to the school's president Melody Rider for such an ambitious undertaking. After all, the school is less than a year old!
