The basics: Married, two cats. Vegetarian. Native Texan. Loves rock 'n' roll. At age 12, cut my hair to look like Pat Benatar. First concert: Adam & the Ants. I sing in my car. Loudly. Never in the shower. I drink a lot of black coffee. On my desk: Two iPods, one CD player, a TV, stacks of books, CDs, magazines and toys. Areas of coverage: entertainment, pop culture and local happenings. Motto: Funny the difference a day makes.
Childhood ambition: To be a nurse like my mother, or a detective like my literary heroine Trixie Beldon. Somehow, I ended up doing something not nearly as noble - or dangerous.
Thing I now have to do before I die: Visit every continent.
What's on my screensaver: A picture of my dream home: an Airstream trailer.
Last songs uploaded on my iPod: My entire Madonna and Cat Power collections. I can now dance and mope.
Soundtrack of my life: Lately, the Replacements' "Achin' to Be."
If I were an action hero, my name would be: Go-Go Gadget Girl.
Signature drink: Black coffee.
Signature style: A lot of black. I guess old high school habits die hard.
Food I crave at midnight: Marie's Donuts on Freeport Boulevard serves up fresh sugary goodness at 2 a.m - perfect after a show. It's either that or a bowl of cold cereal, which is, somehow, just as satisfying.
Biggest thing to hit Sacramento in the past year: Overzealous loft developers. It's not necessarily a good thing - I hope midtown Sac can preserve its eclectic, affordable culture.
