Blues concert to aid pets

The Placer Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will hold its annual fundraising "BBQ and Blues" event from 1 to 9:30 p.m. July 12 at the Gold Country Fairgrounds, 1273 High St., Auburn.
The headliner will be Koko Taylor and her Blues Machine, and there will be performances by Coco Montoya and Cole Fonseca and the Rattlers.
The event will include vendors of food, beverages, arts, crafts, jewelry and pet-related items.
