Here are films and show times for the seventh Sacramento French Film Festival, which continues this weekend at the Crest Theatre.
Saturday
11 a.m.: "The Red Balloon" and "White Mane": William Lamorisse's classic short children's film about a boy and a balloon, accompanied by his tale of a boy and a horse.
12:40 p.m.: Short films program
3:50 p.m.: "The Secret of the Grain" This story of a downsized shipyard worker/aspiring restaurateur won the the César for best picture.
7 p.m.: "Hunting and Gathering" In this Claude Berri comedy, a cleaning woman (Audrey Tautou) forges interesting relationships with her neighbors.
9:15 p.m.: "Mister Freedom" In William Klein's 1969 satire, a maniacally pro-American superhero travels to France.
Midnight: "High Tension" In this slasher film, two friends hole up in an isolated house while a killer is on the loose.
Sunday
11 a.m.: "Mister Freedom"
1:10 p.m.: "The Red Balloon" and "White Mane"
2:50 p.m.: "Hunting and Gathering"
5:05 p.m.: "The Secret of the Grain"
8:20 p.m.: "A Secret" In the festival's closing-night film, a young man discovers a family secret that has far-reaching implications. (Followed by a champagne party.)
Tickets: $10 ($9 for students, seniors, hearing-impaired viewers and members of Alliance Française, Club Français and the Sacramento Valley Citroen Club). Closing-night film and champagne party: $14/$13.
