'Vantage Point'
Scheduled release date: Feb. 22
Bad news: The president of the United States is in Spain for a global conference on something important and, while addressing a crowd in a huge public square, is shot by an assassin.
Or not.
Wait whoa what was that?
So, I've watched the "Vantage Point" trailer like, you know, five times already and I'm still a little befuddled by what's going on.
Or not going on. Or implied. Or whatever.
I know this much: Somebody who's supposed to be the president is shot, and even if that person wasn't the actual commander-in-chief, it's still, obviously, very bad news.
"Vantage Point" is told from the perspectives of several major characters, including two Secret Service agents (Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox), a tourist (Forest Whitaker) and a TV news producer (Sigourney Weaver).
Factor in William Hurt as the president (the real pretend movie president, not the pretend pretend movie president who actually takes the pretend movie bullet), car chases, bombs, international intrigue and threats of terrorism, and you've got one action-fueled, star-powered flick.
And although less is, as they often say, more, I'm taking it as a good sign that my brain's hurting just trying to figure out this jam-packed trailer. But in a good way.
Rating: Three dancing popcorn guys
