The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta is not a true delta, a place where a river fans out as it spills into the sea. Instead it's an estuary, an inland water body where ocean and fresh flows mingle, one of the world's richest ecosystem types. Docked on the San Joaquin River - the 172-foot USS Lucid a former U.S. Navy wooden minesweeper Bradford Island resident Mike Warren is planning to restore with the help of volunteers. State-of-the-art wind turbines on a windfarm at the Montezuma Hills near the Sacramento River delta. Some of these wind turbines are 415ft tall, making them the tallest turbines in the United States-- and are 110 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty. In the background is 3,849-foot Mount Diablo.
