U-Verse, AT&T's Internet-based television service, debuts its Total Home DVR today in Sacramento, officials said.
With the video-recording technology, viewers can record multiple programs on a single digital video recorder; play back programs on any U-Verse-connected television; and can access their DVR and manage its data from their home computer.
Other features include access to the Yellow-Pages.com directory, Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football and AT&T Online Photos.
Subscribers are receiving the system as a free upgrade, but service fees apply to high-definition TVs.
U-Verse is a "bundled" plan of services that include Internet, digital phone and television, a feature also offered locally by Comcast and Roseville-based SureWest Communications.
AT&T also will announce today plans to sell U-Verse services at more than 600 Circuit City and Wal-Mart locations nationwide, including in California and Nevada.
