TV or not TV? That is the question.
"Get Smart" is based on the '60s sitcom, but it's a movie. "Get Smart: The Complete Series Gift Set," on the other hand, is the TV series all 138 episodes on 25 discs. Both will be released Tuesday. "Get Smart," the movie, stars Steve Carell as Agent Maxwell Smart, probably the dumbest spy ever. Anne Hathaway plays Agent 99, a super-sleuth, especially compared with her partner. They step into the shoe phone and pumps of Don Adams and Barbara Feldon from the series.
Would you believe "Get Smart: The Complete Series Gift Set" is digitally restored? It is, and you shouldn't be sorry about that, chief.
Also scheduled for release on Sunday, not Tuesday is "Kung Fu Panda," the animated film that features the voices of Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman. Black plays Po, a lazy panda who dreams of kung-fu excellence, and Hoffman plays Shifu, a martial-arts master.
