Public Safety Watch: Resident's tip leads to pot-cultivation arrest

Published: Thursday, Jul. 24, 2008 - 12:00 am | Page 3G

A tip from a resident led to the arrest of Kayla Beth Woodall on suspicion of cultivating more than 100 marijuana plants in her Sacramento home, police said.

Pursuing the tip, officers visited Woodall's home on the 2200 block of E Street shortly after 10 p.m. July 15, said Sgt. Matt Young, a police spokesman.

"We had received information that marijuana was being cultivated in the home, and the tip proved to be accurate," he said.

After allowing the officers in the residence, Woodall, 27, continued to be cooperative and was arrested without incident, Young said.

The plants were in various stages of growth, with some in the home's basement, he said.

The police report did not list the plant's value, Young said.

Woodall was booked into Sacramento County jail. Bail was set at $10,000. She also was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy, but other details were unavailable.

Theft suspect arrested after chase

A 32-year-old man was arrested in Sacramento after a brief foot pursuit, Sacramento County sheriff's deputies said in a report.

At 11:02 p.m. July 8, deputies responded to an alarm at a Sacramento County office at 1590 Ethan Way, near Hurley Way.

Marko Tadic was observed hiding in the bushes, officers said. As deputies approached Tadic, he reportedly ran away.

Tadic was seen running with a black computer bag and was captured after a brief pursuit, the report says.

Tadic was arrested on suspicion of grand theft and receiving stolen property.
