Assemblyman Roger Niello, R-Fair Oaks, has set two area homeowners-renters tax assistance workshops for seniors and people with disabilities.
The workshops' times and locations are:
Citrus Heights, 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Sylvan Oaks Library, 6700 Auburn Blvd.
Arden Arcade and Carmichael areas, 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 15 at the YMCA, 3127 Eastern Ave., Sacramento.
The workshops are de- signed to provide help to those eligible for the Homeowners and Renter Assistance program. Eligibility requirements for the program's tax refunds include being 62 or older, or blind or disabled on Dec. 31, 2007, with less than $44,096 in annual income.
"The Homeowner-Renter Assistance Program is a great program that provides eligible homeowners and renters a refund on a portion of their property tax," Niello said in a news release.
The workshops also are designed to provide help with the program's application. Individuals needing assistance should bring a copy of their 2007-08 property tax bill, a copy of their 2007 federal tax return and a California driver's license or ID card.
