From its huge, city-sponsored open-air market to the Spaans Cookie Company, Galt is a very much a family oriented community.
Located south of Sacramento on U.S. Highway 99, Galt is a city of about 19,000 with a wide range of both rental housing and private homes. Once a tiny hamlet, Galt has grown rapidly in the last decade.
The Galt Market began in 1953 and has burgeoned into one of the largest retail and wholesale outdoor markets in Northern California. Spaans Cookie Co. has made Galt the home for its family owned business since 1958.
Galt is located on the doorstep to sprawling Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, which offers a vast variety of water activities, ranging from house boating to sailing and from swimming to fishing.
Community parks, the Cosumnes River Preserve and two golf courses provide additional recreational opportunities.
The city holds a Strawberry Festival each spring and the Galt Festival in the summer.

The typical commute time for a Galt resident is about 31 minutes.
