The state recently released 2008 SAT test scores, and multiple local schools are among the best in California. Almost 75 percent of test takers at these 15 local schools scored higher than 1500.
A few notes: These schools are ranked by average SAT score. Scores can be affected by the number of students taking the test; if only the smart kids at a particular school take the SAT, its score will be inflated. However, all but two of these schools had a higher percentage of students taking the SAT than the regionwide average. Only schools where more than 15 percent -- and at least 40 students -- took the SAT are included.
