Now that the drama of sunrise is over, I can concentrate on a tilt/shift demonstration for my group. I like shots like this because the rock in the foreground has a lot of detail. that makes setting up for a tilt/shift shot that much easier. Tilt/shift lenses give you the ability to use wide-open apertures for maximum depth-of-field. This photo was made on October 9, 2010 with a Canon 24mm tilt/shift lens on a Canon 5D MkII full frame sensor camera. The exposure was 1/1500 sec. at f-4 using ISO 400 and a polarizing filter. The lens required -9mm fall (downward shift) and -1º tilt (downward) for maximum image coverage and depth-of-field.
