• "Dine About Town San Francisco" is under way, with more than 100 participating restaurants offering a two-course lunch menu for $17.95 and/or a three-course dinner menu for $34.95.

• Greeting visitors at Taste of Mendocino June 13 will be a living forest of 3,000 young redwood trees lining the entrance to the Festival Pavilion at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco.

Inside, you can sip, sample and taste at a marketplace focusing on the wineries and retailers from Mendocino County, and discover what the region has to offer. The Flynn Flying Circus will be among the day's entertainment. Doors open 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $35 advance, $45 at the door.

The history of Hawaii

Traveler Sue Erlich will speak about Hawaii covering everything from the Polynesians to statehood in a free meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Arcade Library Community Room, 2443 Marconi Ave., Sacramento, hosted by the No Reservations Travel Club.

Celebrate Gay Pride Month in wine country

Out In the Vineyard, an events and travel company dedicated to the LGBT travelers, will offer a Gay Wine Weekend in Sonoma Valley June 17-19 to benefit Face to Face Sonoma County AIDS Network.

The three days consists of music and dancing in a private estate vineyard; VIP receptions; wine-tasting excursions; a comedy show, including headliner Judy Tenuta (June 17 at Sonoma Community Center); and the Twilight T-Dance (June 18 at Atwood Ranch in Glen Ellen). Tickets start at $35.
