A man critically injured June 16 in a parasailing accident in which his wife died will receive much-needed financial help to return home.
The Greater Sacramento New Car Dealers Association announced Monday that it is donating the additional money needed for medevac services to bring Victor Rodriguez home.
Rodriguez was on his honeymoon and parasailing in the Bahamas when the accident occurred, killing his wife, Crystal.
Dan Kokotas of Swift Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Kia in Davis, a board member of the Greater Sacramento New Car Dealers, led the board move to fund medical transportation for Rodriguez from Orlando to Sacramento, the most expensive leg of the trip.
A spokeswoman for the association said it is hoped Rodriguez will be able to make the trip within two weeks.
Additional funds are needed to assist the family with funeral costs. Donations may be sent to R.W. Baird, 300 University Ave., Sacramento, CA 95825. Checks should be made payable to R.W. Baird, c/o Rodriguez Family Care.
