Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday

Happy hour: 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

The real steal: Enjoy appetizers such as coconut shrimp or a dim sum basket for between $4 and $9. The princess roll, the blackened ahi tuna and other wraps and rolls go for $7-$9. Specialty cocktails such as a Lava Flow or a mojito run about $6. A glass of wine can be had for $5. Or try a draft beer for $2.75-$3 for a 12-ounce glass or $3.75-$4 for a 20-ounce glass.

The vibe: Four lighted palm trees create a relaxing oasis at the center of a dining area filled with comfortable booths and tables. There's a hint of the transcendence that awaits you as you approach the restaurant, shaped like a Chinese-style pagoda.

Signature drink: $16 might sound like a lot of dough, but split the cost with three friends during happy hour. You'll get the Double Dragon, a fruity drink with about 10-11 shots in a 60-ounce giant fish bowl. Flavored vodkas, flavored brandies, and flavored rums, along with peach schnapps, passion fruit and mango purée fill this drink.

Bathroom break: Located close to the bar, the bathroom leaves plenty of space in the front by the sink and mirror for you to wait for a friend or touch up your face. Multiple stalls keep the lines short.

Alternative libations: If none of the cocktails on the menu appeals to you, ask your friendly mixologist whether he has created a brew of his own. Andrew Parrish, for instance, dreamed up the "Lava Lamp" for all those looking for a little psychedelic trip. Parrish combines raspberry vodka, triple sec, a splash of orange juice and fresh raspberries, then shakes up the beverage so hard that the floating raspberries resemble the pulsing lava. Eric Wong's "Wong Island" has freshly muddled raspberries with a mix of Absolut Mandarin and Malibu rum, orange juice and pineapple juice, with a splash of Sprite.

Something extra: We need to give you a lesson in Fatspeak before you hit the door. You're here to enjoy "Martini Hour," because that's what they call happy hour in these parts. And, you're going to make your way to the "lounge" because that's what they call the bar. If you can, find a seat at the bar where you can face the television and an impressive wall of alcohol.

Editor's note: This story was changed Aug. 22 to correct the Folsom address.
