River Cats start fast, then hang on
Turning point: The first seven Sacramento batters reached base as the River Cats took a 7-0 lead in the first inning en route to a 9-5 win over host Tucson on Saturday night.
Major league moment: River Cats relievers pitched four scoreless innings, with hard-throwing right-hander Neil Wagner firing shutout innings in the seventh and eighth.
Take a bow: Michael Taylor ended an 0-for-24 skid with two hits Saturday night.
Who's hot: Adrian Cardenas, who's hitting a team high .312, has three or more hits in three of his last four games.
Who's not: Tucson starter Rob Musgrave allowed seven or more runs for the second time in three starts.
Worth noting: Tucson was mathematically eliminated with the loss, and Sacramento lowered its magic number to five to clinch the playoffs.
