Juice It Up!, the Irvine-based franchised smoothie and juice bar chain that closed nearly half of its California outlets in the recession, is making a comeback locally and statewide.
The chain, which has five outlets in the Sacramento area, plans to open a new bar at 25035 Blue Ravine Road in Folsom next month.
Company officials said they hope to open three to five additional franchised bars throughout the area over the next couple of years, part of a statewide expansion plan.
Most Juice It Up! sites are in California; a handful can be found in Arizona, Texas and New York.
Nearly 80 outlets were closed during the recession - including some in the Sacramento area - and the company tweaked the concept to focus on fresh-squeezed juices. The Folsom outlet will emphasize its juice bar.
