Kavanaugh Ridge has great color and is off the Virginia Lakes Road at Conway Summit on Dunderberg Meadow Road. It is a class 1 dirt road but you only need to go about a mine and a half to get to the color. Beyond that the color isn’t any better. Park your car and start walking. You’ll love it. This photo was made on September 28, 2011 with a Canon 5D MkII camera using a Canon 24-105mm zoom set to 60mm. The exposure was 1/125 sec. at f/11 using ISO 400 with a Polarizing filter.
