Happy hour: 3-7 p.m. Monday- Thursday, 3-6 p.m. Friday-Sunday

The real steal: On Fridays, between 4 and 6 p.m., enjoy a free appetizer buffet that varies by theme each week. For instance, there can be an Italian theme with spaghetti and meatballs, or a barbecue theme. Other appetizers that you can get anytime during happy hour range from $5.50 to $7.50, and you can try the jalapeño onion string stack, lettuce wraps or calamari, to name a few. As far as your drink goes, Legends has that covered as well. All day Monday through Wednesday, you can get half off on a bottle of wine, and during happy hour you can get pints for $3.25-$4.50, or for somewhere between $4 and $5.50, you can get a 22-ounce beer. Well drinks are $4, and cocktails range from $4-$7.

The vibe: Choose from three adjoining rooms. The banquet room seats up to 250 people, and unless it is booked for an event, it is open to anyone. There is also the bar and the grill. You have a view of the golf course, plus there are a total of 20 high-definition, flat-screen TVs. Want to get into a game? Head for a couple of arcade games.

Signature drink: There are 19 beers, but if you want something a little sweeter, the mai tai has proved to be one of their most popular drinks. It's $4 at happy hour.

Bathroom break: The roomy bathroom has chairs inside, so you can relax while waiting for a friend.

Alternative libations: All cocktails are between $4 and $7, and they have drinks such as the lemon drop, raspberry lemon drop, cosmopolitan, melon ball, citrus crush and woo woo. If you prefer margaritas, try their house, melon, raspberry or ultimate margarita on the rocks. Otherwise, try a Lynchburg lemonade, a Legend mojito or a Long Island ice tea.

Something extra: Seat yourself at the Legends Grill room and enjoy the chance to view one of the eight TVs in that room.MacKenzie's Bar and Grille at the Haggin Oaks Golf Course
