Gold River-based shipping and trucking company Alliance Traffic Group has been acquired by Leading Edge Logistics, a supply chain and logistics management company headquartered in Philadelphia.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Leading Edge Logistics, which has 14 offices in the United States and Mexico, said Alliance will operate as an independent subsidiary. It will continue to offer a range of LTL, truckload, rail and expedited air services.
LTL is a shipping industry term for less-than-truckload, referring to relatively small freight items and parcels.
Alliance also offers international warehousing services.
