Online job ads for nurses continue to dominate Sacramento's help-wanted posts, but computer systems analysts and retail positions were also in demand.

In all, 1,429 ads for registered nurses were posted in the state Employment Development Department's Help Wanted Online report as of Sept. 1.

That was up from the 1,278 ads for registered nurses as of July 1.

Meanwhile, postings for computer systems analysts (676) and retail salespersons (557) were virtually flat compared to July 1.

Systems analysts ads increased by just three positions, and postings for salespeople rose by 28 ads, though they held on to second and fourth place, respectively.

Ads for retail managers held the third spot with 604 online advertisements.

Health networks again topped the list of employers' job postings, but the report featured a new No. 1 in September, with Catholic Healthcare West bumping Kaiser Permanente to No. 2.

Catholic Healthcare West's 866 job postings led Kaiser Permanente's 405 postings and fourth-place Sutter Health's 263, as of Sept. 1.

In third place sat information technology staffing company Sapphire Technologies, with 273 postings.

Sacramento led area cities with more than 15,176 postings, followed by Roseville (1,702), Rancho Cordova (1,294), Folsom (1,193) and Elk Grove (663), according to the report.
