Got some good ideas to change state income tax laws?
The state Franchise Tax Board wants to hear them, as part of its annual "Taxpayers' Bill of Rights" hearing on Thursday. It takes place during the board's regular meeting, which starts at 1:30 p.m. at FTB headquarters, 9646 Butterfield Way, Sacramento.
The hearing, which is required by law, traditionally occurs at the board's last meeting of the year, said FTB spokesman John Barrett.
The public and/or tax professionals who want to make a presentation Thursday are asked to submit a written statement prior to the hearing, including the specific tax code sections. Those statements can be submitted in advance to the FTB's Taxpayer Advocate by fax at (916) 843-6022 or by email to: Taxpayer.Advocate@ftb.ca.gov.

• Don't use all capital letters. That's akin to yelling and not appreciated by the audience.
• Don't flag other users' comments just because you don't agree with their point of view. Please only flag comments that violate these guidelines.
