Bee staff writer Jason Jones hosted an online chat with Kings assistant coach Bobby Jackson on Wednesday about the upcoming season. Here are highlights:

RYAN S: Hey Bobby! Who are the Kings trying to land in the free agency market?

JACKSON: Can't answer that. The lockout isn't officially over yet.

GREGDC29: With the roster as it exists now, are you concerned about too many shooters, not enough passers?

JACKSON: No, you can never have enough shooters. The more shooters you have, the more space you have to operate. So it's always good that you have them.

PB: Bobby, what do you think about all the back-to-backs and crammed schedule? Seems it will lead to some ragged play at times.

JACKSON: There's going to be ragged play in the first month of the season. But trying to cram in 66 games, you're going to get that in the beginning of the season. Back-to-backs are going to be hard because there are going to be so many and a lot of four games in five nights … that's a lot of basketball.

FERNANDO: As an assistant coach now, what will your duties be? Will you focus on offense, defense, transition?

JACKSON: The good thing about coach (Paul) Westphal is he's going to give us the freedom to be coaches. No one is going to be designated for offense, defense or transition. No one has a "role," but the main thing is everybody being on the same page.

SCOTT: Do the Kings have a realistic shot at making the playoffs this year? What are your goals as a coach for this upcoming season?

JACKSON: If you're coming into the season and you're not thinking you're going to make the playoffs, then you have a problem. Depending on what we do in free agency and with the young team we have, I feel we have a great chance.

GREGDC29: Hey Bobby, with all these young legs, how much emphasis will you and the rest of the coaching staff put on getting out on the break, getting some easy baskets?

JACKSON: That's going to be huge for us, trying to get as many easy baskets as possible. We definitely want to push it when we have the opportunity.

FERNANDO: Will you be lacing up the sneakers yourself to show the younger guys your tricks of the trade?

JACKSON: I'm a competitive guy. I'll be on the court with the young guys. But trying to practice and play with them? No. Not practicing but more workout stuff.

BEN: Bobby, as a fan of Sacramento, I feel like this season is of extreme importance, especially in regards to keeping the team in Sacramento. Do you think the players feel the same and feel determined to fight for our city?

JACKSON: Without a doubt. For me as a player, once I was here I was happy with the city of Sacramento. The players are definitely going to fight for the city.

FERNANDO: So, can you still dunk the ball :-)

JACKSON: NO!!!
