ALAMEDA – Raiders cornerback Chris Johnson was in the Dallas area Wednesday following the death of a family member, coach Hue Jackson said.

The Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reported that Johnson's sister was killed and his mother wounded in a shooting Monday afternoon outside a Fort Worth apartment complex.

"It's very unfortunate," Jackson said. "This is a game of football. The thing he's dealing with is a game of life. Very, very tough situation that he's dealing with. But the organization supports him, I support him, he'll get back here and be ready to go."

According to the Star-Telegram, an argument allegedly led to a 46-year-old man fatally shooting Jennifer Johnson, 33, and wounding Della Johnson, 53.

The report cited friends of Jennifer Johnson saying she was the sister of the Raiders' Chris Johnson. According to Chris Johnson's biography on the Louisville athletics website, he is the son of Della Johnson.

Jackson said he expects that Johnson will be back with the team for its game Sunday in Green Bay.

Raiders hurting – Quarterback Carson Palmer said he heard a couple weeks ago that this would be the game in which injured running back Darren McFadden returns. There's still time, but there was little sign of McFadden on Wednesday.

McFadden, still battling the foot injury that has caused him to miss the past five games, did not participate in practice. Neither did wide receivers Jacoby Ford (foot) and Denarius Moore (foot). Ford has sat out the past three games and Moore the past two.

Jackson said there have been no setbacks in their recovery.

"If anything, there's more positives," he said. "They're getting closer. I wish I could tell you what day and what the percentage is (for their return), but I know they're getting closer."

Wide receiver Chaz Schilens (foot), running back Taiwan Jones (foot) and defensive tackle John Henderson (knee) also did not practice.

Tight end Kevin Boss (hip), defensive linemen Tommy Kelly (toe), Jarvis Moss (hamstring), Trevor Scott (shoulder) and Richard Seymour (knee) were all limited.

Safety Michael Huff (ankle) practiced at full capacity.

Woodson recovering – Packers cornerback Charles Woodson, who suffered a concussion last weekend against the New York Giants, could be ready for Sunday's game, Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said.

Woodson, who once played for the Raiders, has an NFC-leading six interceptions.

Slow rush – After five consecutive games with 100 or more rushing yards, the Raiders rushed for just 119 yards combined in their past two games, against the Bears and Dolphins, including 46 yards on just 14 carries against Miami.

"Teams are going to learn and people know what we are," Jackson said. "We're a team that likes to run the ball. … Our guys have got to get people blocked, we've got to run like we know we can run, and get it done. That's the bottom line."

Lambeau love – Palmer said Lambeau Field is "my favorite place to play. … It just reeks with history."

Palmer has played there twice, including a 2008 preseason game. His lone regular-season game was Sept. 20, 2009, when he threw three touchdown passes (and two interceptions) in Cincinnati's 31-24 win.

"It's fun when it's cold," he added.

Palmer should have a blast Sunday; forecasts call for mostly sunny skies and a high of 38 degrees.

What streak? – Raiders safety Mike Mitchell said he hasn't thought about Oakland's opportunity to snap the Packers' winning streak, now at 18 games and tied for the second-longest in NFL history.

"The No. 1 focus for us is winning this game, not to end any streaks or to spite them in any way," Mitchell said. "We're winning this game because, for one, we should and we can. Our lives are on it. We don't want to keep losing games and, if Denver wins or loses, stay a game behind or even. We got to take care of our business."
