Luther Findley, on a speaker phone, pleads with a Bank of America representative Dec. 9 for an extension on eviction from the Fair Oaks home he has shared with his wife, Claire, since 1996. "My wife is a quadriplegic, and I have no place to move her," Luther explains. Claire is terminally ill with ALS – amyotrophic lateral sclerosis – and wants to die at home. BofA agreed last week not to evict Luther until after Claire's death.
