Waste Connections Inc. said it may incur a loss of $4 million to $6 million next year on the existing lease on its Folsom headquarters.
The Sacramento region's largest publicly traded company announced last week that it was relocating its corporate offices to The Woodlands, Texas, resulting in the loss of about 100 local jobs.
In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the fast-growing local trash hauler and landfill operator said the lease expenses are in addition to $15 million in relocation costs that the company expects to incur.
Waste Connections said it will begin moving this month to its temporary Texas offices, a 30,000-square-foot space in a high-rise building known as Waterway Plaza in The Woodlands. The company said it will eventually occupy 50,000 or 60,000 square feet within the complex. The move is expected to be completed in September.
